This policy explains, briefly and clearly, what personal data is processed when you visit pcic.gov.tl or submit forms on this site, for what purposes, for how long, and what your rights are. The Scientific and Criminal Investigation Police (PCIC), as the data controller, is bound by the principle of legality, the protection of fundamental rights, and the duty of confidentiality.
Information we collect
Through the contact form we collect the name, email address, and message you send us, for the sole purpose of responding to your enquiry.
The servers hosting the site keep short-lived technical records (request date and time, response code, browser, and IP address in web-server and CDN security logs). These records are used only for diagnostics, abuse prevention, and platform security.
We do not build advertising profiles, do not sell data to third parties, and do not use marketing trackers.
Anonymous tip line
The anonymous tip form is designed to preserve the informant's anonymity. We do not ask for, do not collect, and do not associate with the submission any personal identifier (name, phone, email) or your IP address.
If you choose to attach photos, documents, or videos, the metadata embedded in images (including GPS coordinates, device make and model, and capture dates) is removed on the server before the submission is forwarded to the competent services. Files are transmitted over an encrypted channel and handled in confidence by authorised investigators.
We recommend that you do not include, in the text of the tip, personal data you do not wish to share.
Cookies
This site uses only strictly necessary cookies: a language-preference cookie set when you select one of the language versions, with the purpose of taking you to the content in your chosen language on subsequent visits.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies.
Third-party services
Delivery of messages submitted through the contact and tip forms is provided by Resend (resend.com), a transactional email service. The site is hosted on Hetzner, fronted by Cloudflare. These providers process data strictly for the purposes of transmission and infrastructure protection.
Retention
Messages received through the forms are retained for the period necessary to handle the enquiry or investigation, and are subsequently archived or deleted in accordance with applicable regulation.
Server-side technical logs are retained for a short period, sufficient only for diagnostics and security.
Your rights
You may request access, rectification, or deletion of personal data that you have previously shared through the contact form. These rights are exercised in writing, through the contacts indicated below.
Note that, by design, the anonymous tip channel does not allow identification of the informant and, consequently, requests for access cannot be matched to anonymous submissions.
