It is with great honour and a sense of institutional responsibility that, on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the Scientific and Criminal Investigation Police — PCIC, marked on 14 May 2026, we present to the public the new PCIC institutional website, available at pcic.gov.tl.
The launch of this digital platform represents a significant milestone in PCIC's institutional modernisation process and reflects the institution's permanent commitment to transparency, citizen proximity, inter-institutional cooperation, and the strengthening of national justice and security.
PCIC, as a specialised criminal police body, has the mission of supporting the judicial authorities in the prevention, detection, and investigation of serious, complex, organised, and transnational crime, as well as ensuring the national centralisation and processing of criminal and police information, in strict respect for democratic legality, the fundamental rights of citizens, and the principles of the Rule of Law.
The new website is a true digital gateway to the institution, allowing citizens, public entities, national and international partners, and society at large to better understand the mission, vision, values, organic structure, areas of specialisation, and services provided by PCIC.
The platform was designed with a clear institutional identity and simple, secure, and accessible navigation, and is available in Portuguese, Tetum, and English, ensuring broader, more inclusive, and more effective communication with the citizens of Timor-Leste and with international police-cooperation partners.
Particular emphasis is placed on the anonymous tip line, designed as a secure channel of communication between the citizen and PCIC, enabling the submission of information relevant to criminal investigation, with the safeguarding of confidentiality, protection of the informant's identity, and respect for the applicable legal principles. The responsible cooperation of citizens is an essential instrument for the prevention and suppression of crime and for the consolidation of a culture of public security.
The PCIC website will also serve as a space for institutional communication, through which news, official communications, information of public interest, awareness content, and other elements useful for strengthening trust between the institution and the community will be published.
It is important to underline that this launch is only the starting point of an evolving process. The platform will be progressively refined with the integration of new content, digital features, informative materials, a press area, a legislation library, frequently asked questions, and other citizen-oriented services.
PCIC expresses its appreciation for the support provided under the Timor-Leste Police Development Program — TLPDP, whose collaboration contributed to the realisation of this digital modernisation project and to the strengthening of the institutional capacities of the Scientific and Criminal Investigation Police.
In this new digital chapter, we reaffirm PCIC's commitment to rigorous, scientific, independent, impartial, and truth-driven criminal investigation, in the service of justice, national security, and the protection of citizens.
